Local lad to me has got one and at first i thought WTF how did he afford one of them, after looking I was shocked to see the price of them!

Some for under 15K now and this one (is probably a Cat D) but still nice example.

and another at 15K (not a Cat D)

Was saying to Hammer at the weekend you can pick a nice one of these up for 20k now.

I'd be really worried about resale on an 80k porsche.

My friend bought a base model recently.

I'd change the C to a G.

I like them but I think the Boxster S looks better and you get the added benefit of a convertible. Plus the Boxster S is cheaper.

I don't get the stigma attached to Boxsters?

OK So they are the entry level Porsche, but they are still great cars and they look awesome.

They are no more "hairdresser" than any other roadster IMO.

You're still 16k+ for a boxster without they horrible front lights same as the 996.

Just seemed snooty to me, Boxsters are famous for handling finesse and fine build quality and IMO the original will be a design classic.

Are people stupid or something? Astra is quite a price difference to a Boxster is it not? Any non-imbecile would interpret his comment as "if i was spending X I wouldn't get a boxster".

Clearly people on here aren't allowed to dislike a car on here if the majority states that said car is "better" than the commenters.

Boxster is a bit of a bitch car really isn't it, and yes, I drive a Vectra.

That's fair enough, I didn't realise you meant comparing them at similar prices.

Money aside surely you would rather have a Boxster over an Astra diesel though?

From my perspective that's not the point, it just seems that most people don't like Boxsters because Jeremy Clarkson says so.

Mate, I couldn't give a toss what he says. I do like Boxsters, no doubt they're an ace car, it's a Porsche, you'd fuckin hope so. I just think they're a bitch car and wouldn't own one myself.
