It's all in the prep work, if it isn't smooth to start with it won't be smooth after it's painted

it will be smooth if you remove all the sound deadening properly and use white spirit and panel wipes after to clean up all the shit.

It all depends how good you want it to look!
Heres my track car:

From a distance in the pics it looks ok, get up close and the story is a little different I heat gunned the sound deadening off, white spirits on the remaining glue, quick sanding, primered in red and then sprayed with rattle cans. Its not a paintshop finish but its great for a track car and is miles better than it was.
As people have said, its all about the prep and Im a bit lazy and not that bothered as its a track car!

Definetly painted

It doesn't have to be perfect, it's the inside of a car! But I think you'll agree it looks much better than with sound deadening patches!

See Grahams is how it should be done! If you have a car as nice as that that you use on the road, thats the way to do it!!

Just black Hammerite on mine, no prep except sweeping it out I've got an interior just no carpets or sound deadening.
