After Qualifying 5th on the grid.....and so close to a finish in 2nd place - (4th gear selection issues) say us finish in 4th place...

First Drivers is Paul J, and Me second - First time racing!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfesVfX95X4&feature=youtu.be

Your see paul take and hold third place (DC5 was DQ for bad driving) until the driver change....were you will see the clio just take 3rd (turned out to be 2nd) from us.....

Then after the safety car, while fending off a mini, while trying to get pass the clio who was holding both of us up.... 29minutes in 4th gear selection problem came along with our podium position....

But when we got the time sheets out it showed us 3rd...and the mini one lap behind and in 7th place!.....to which they complained and we got demoted to 4th. Weather they were one lap behind we arent sure...

A short review
http://www.tracktalent.co.uk/2012/03/trackday-trophy-brands-hatch-report/

I personaly had a great day myself! just a shame about 10minutes were under safety cars ..

The car will be going under a few mods ready for the next race,

Being a Bias valve for the brakes due to rear end gets far to happy! and new gearbox due to
selection issues, and might aswell fit a new clutch too! and some decent tyres also

Was an awesome day. Great driving by Warren considering he'd never driven the car.

Also, just for people's info the car's in 1st / 2nd (the 205 / DC5) were blatent cheats The DC5 was in the class above last year and doing the same lap times it was doing now, the guy who built the DC5 was at Brands and said it's running 300 bhp

So I see the result as, we qualified 5th, I got up to 1st place, then a dodgy 4th gear let us slip down to 3rd

I was just happy to get the fastest lap of all the non cheaters - a 57.2

Few pics:

'The trailer':

Tony and Warren by the car

Me behind the cheating DC5

Behind one of two safety cars

The widest clio in the world... Warren got sick of the sight of the back of this car

Results

Also, thanks to Tony for his mechanic support / trailering the car and the guest appearances by butler / gav. Was a brilliant day regardless of result, one of my most enjoyable.

Quite comical that me and Warren didn't have all our gear in FIA spec either, so we were one of the only teams swapping clothing during the pitstop / driver change

Looking good boys.

Don't you have to provide RR graphs?

Spectacular result considering everything.

Yeah, but there's talk of people putting restrictors in for RR, or tweaking their ECU map - not sure why someone would bother - seems sad imo that people cheat, but that's racing I guess.

Nice driving warren.

And is it just me or is that blue clio taking wrong lines at most corners?

Was actually getting frustrated with that Clio just sitting here watching the race! Don't know how you weren't swearing out loud Warren!

Unlucky about the gear changes, everytime it seemed like you were get past the Mini again the supercharger was eating you out of the bends.

Looks like the car will be better on a faster/sweeping circuit

Good race though lads, looks great fun, wish I'd come up I was only at my girlfriends about 3 miles away!

I think we were going to skip silverstone as it's a boring track... who knows - if we get the car sorted, may be worth a shot?

- Our next race is a Team Trophy race (more experienced field of drivers) at Donnington on 29th of April.

Well done on the first event.

Just seen on the official timing.

You have to do a minimum of 1 min 50 for pitstop. It's in the rules.

The 205 that won it did 1 min 49

But the mini that stole our position near the end only did a 1 min 33! W.T.F.

Both of them should've had penalties / been DQ'd - meaning we should've bloody won it heh.

Exactly! Whats the point of having the rule if they don't follow it!

Short pit stops are as bad as cheating BHP figures
