There's another thread asking this very question a few post down lol.
Would rather have the mk4 R32 over the TT tho.

If its staying mostly standard then the V6 with a miltek purely for the noise, if you want one with intentions of upping the power then the 225 is the one to go for. A simple map and your onto an easy 260+bhp.

Can anyone do a search on N6 CHR and find out if it's cat D or any issues with it?

get the 225. will be better on petrol and has more potential with regards to tuning.

Won't ever be tuned or modified bar possibly wheels, it's not being bought to do anything to so future possibility of tuning is neither here nor there.
Official figures show the v6 is only 1mpg worse than the 225 so that's not a major problem either tbh

Ive had both, currently got the V6 with DSG, great car, V6 is much nicer to drive, low down easy power and the DSG is very refined in the way it drives.
As said, if you are planting it in drive it drops gears and is a little slow compared to changing down first in a manual, however when you are in manual or sport mode and are changing with the padles this isnt the case.
My V6 does around 250-275 to a tank, the 225 did around 275-300 with a remap and 300-320 standard all based on a mix of driving with the odd blast.
Look out for jerkiness between D and R on the DSG and hesitating when pulling away this can be a sign that either the hydraulic clutch needs calibrating (easy job for someone with vag com) or can be the start of the mechatronic unit in the gearbox failing which is mega money.
How much are you looking at spending? mine might be for sale soon, Im also local to you (Newcastle-u-Lyme) if you need anymore help or info

Upto £5k, £5.5 at a stretch-have to buy something on Wednesday though as it all went very fast with the Disco today-guy turned up with £14.5k in £20 notes and drove away and we didn't expect it to go that fast. Sorted getting her to and from work for a couple of days but she's off Wednesday so has to sort it then

What do you think of this one?
Slightly more miles than we wanted but under £4k and from a dealer. Seem reasonable? Its only 9miles from home too

looks ok - I had AVUS with red leather
Try and find simialr on a 52 plate as the sline edition holds no extra value as all additions on the sline model came standard on 52 plate cars onwards. However most dealers try and sell them at extra price due to the sline culture
The mods included
Titanium headlight surrounds
Lowered ride height of 20mm
amoungst other things
the Sline has them but make sure your not paying a premium because it has an sline badge

MK4 underpinnings, numb steering and iffy handling. It was / is nothing more than a boutique car for bored housewives. Just like the Mini and Fiat 500 are today.
The only decent TT is the RS in the current shape. That actually has performance pretentions rather than just looking pretty, but even then the MK1's looks divide opinion, looking like a flattened Beetle to some.
The run-out 240hp MK1 is the only one I'd consider, because of it's decent wheels and black roof, which set it apart from the sea of others out there.

Dealer's photos - pick it up tomorrow. GOt it for £5250 with 6months warranty and he's changing the cambelt and waterpump too. 69,000miles, 225 Quattro

Test drove 5 last night, this one is less than a mile from home too which is great news
