Right, I know a few of you have done this so just wanted to gauge the preferred method.

I will not be removing the calipers and will be painting them on car.

Am planning on cleaning them up first with a wire brush.

Any ideas on what paint to use? assume it will need to be high temperature.

Prime, paint and sorry if this sound silly but anyone lacquered afterwards as well?

I know the proper way would be to remove, strip caliper and have them powder coated but looking for the best 'on car' method.

Wire brush, etch primer, paint, doesn't have to be high temperature for normal day to day cars, I've done loads with normal car paint and seems to work fine. I lacquer afterwards too to give them that extra shine.

Can use brush on stuff too, can usually just brush it straight on after wire brushing. Hammerite is good for the job.

painted mine with Hammerite and used normal car laquer afterwards, been fine for a few years now.

Clean them off, apply hammerite, let it dry, done.

This.

Took no time at all to do mine black and they came out nice and clean and still look good. They look a bit crappy at first though until they dry.

I did mine with some left over foiltec (iirc) stuff in red, its about £18, the brake cleaner and the tine did three cars (2 x coats / 4 x calipers) and looks good.

Wire brush and brake cleaner to get them clean and then pain away

i went to halfords an bought there make 'calliper paint' an i just cleaned them up painted it on left it to dry then applyed another coat an it still looks gd after 2 months

i use normal paint for calipers, never had a problem, ill be doing mine in a few days

Ive gone for black, a friend just did his calipers and non contact areas of his disc black on his 335 and it looks well.

Did mine with red Hammerite and it's fine. Doesn't look amazing up close, but that's because of the rubbish paint job It ran a bit is all I'll say

I painted mine with halfords high temp paint about 2 years ago, before painting I wire wheeled them down to bare metal, brake cleaner then brushed it on. It's been flaking off for a while now tho might hammerite next time tbh
