I know the old 1.4 8v Spi engines are bad for snapping the cam, never heard of it happening on the 1.0l's though.

They have a chain? Also if you fitted a camshaft for £43.90 then you must be the cheapest garage in England.

if its a corsa c then the cam alone is 450 ish plus vat. indecently if its a twinport its very common and you may be able to badger vauxhall to fix it.

It's a corsa b 1.0xe I think. Same car as in my pic. I sold my rio sport yesterday to fund it lol. Apparently my cam isn't made anymore, do your recon vauxhall would contribute?

It's apparently a know fault that a screw or something works loose then all of a sudden the camshaft lets go and snaps. I'd be pissed if in a new car 25k miles in the cam shaft broke

Seen it a few times on a c never a b, the cam cap bolts come loose. Vauxhall won't offer a bean.

it is the cam caps coming loose on a c, on a b you have no hope of vauxhall helping sadly.
i have never seen a b do it though.

So that's just under £310 inc VAT then. A little more than the £43.90 you first stated

Apparently they don't make the cam for that engine anymore or something so will have to be repaired or have a new one? I dunno.
