Oh dear. He was poking around the forum today & somehow came across a pic of Beardy's old 3 litre V6 Corsa, the mental looking wide body thing. And now he wants to have a go at putting a V6 in a Corsa.

So, two questions. One being, what's involved in putting a 3 litre V6 in a Corsa and second, how much am I looking to pay for such an engine.

Oh christ no I'd rather not do that! He doesn't like corsa's too, and yet wants to put a V6 in one!

Don't think so mate, just something that sounds good & goes fairly quick (not C20LET quick tho).

Pain in the ass, not as quick as a LET, barely even faster than an XE, fouls the rack, can't get to anything to work on it, not one to pursue if you're currently on the fence.

Engines themselves are very cheap indeed, probably cheaper than 2 litre I would say, but it's not a nice job at all.

A 3.0 V6 with an F20 gearbox, in a Corsa, would be quite a bit quicker than an XE Corsa.

My old, heavier, Mk3 Astra Gsi, with a C25XE and F20, used to pull on XE Corsa's effortlessly.

too see a good V6 in a corsa you need various bits from different V6 engines

griffin autosport do the mounts and shafts etc... find a lad called david dixon, top bloke. had the white nova 3.0l v6 running gas at pv, getting 12.1's all day long...

also an issue you'll need to address is the back manifold and down pipes. iv heard you can do a few mods to a front manifold and it'll fit however the normal back ones can be made to fit like mine. its a squeeze but it does go in there

^ There was some dude who signed up on here a few years back, after a corsa turbo beat his monaro vxr, so he came on here asking who it was and bought a corsa turbo for a laugh

That's a proper midlife crisis, he was 50 odd iirc, nice guy

Speaking of old guys and corsa turbos, i seen an old guy driving a corsa vxr this morning. He looked to be in his late 50s / early 60s.

Don't think so, just a bit bored whilst there's no work. I was thinking about dropping an XE into a corsa for a laugh, after the diesel project is done. Thanks be to fuck the petrol prices are coming down!

Cheers mate, most helpful one here so far! How did you go about modifying the back manifold in your car to clear the rack?

Maybe be better off with a mk3 astra? How much more do they weigh than corsas's?
Mates got an astra gsi with a vectra x25xe and got a long term project of fitting a c25xe into a pink (nearly white!) flame red 5 door shell. Sound is amazing right enough, really addictive

If I had a MK3 Astra I wouldn't waste time on a V6, I would go Saab B204 route
