My friend has a J reg nova and the other night he slid off a roundabout near dobbies in southport at really low speed (did the same thing myself in my first car a 2 years back)
when up the curb, along the grass and back onto the road (2 other cars almost followed suit with one just spinning out)

Now he's taken it to a garage (thinking the trackrod end, ball joint etc) will just need replacing but they're telling him the chassis has come away under the bonnet and 3 different garages have refused to repair it.

Can they do this? Be a shame to see another nova get written off

Tbh I know the roundabout he's on about and you really don't need to go fast to spin on it

If you think its just a TRE and balljoint then get a mate to fix it and then see if it drives perfect or not. Most garages wont touch as a nova as they think they're ready for the scrap.

Knowing it's a bad roundabout and still coming off is worse than just being caught out.

So surely that's too fast for the conditions? As said, it's not a 'garage' job, it's a bodyshop job. You wouldn't kick off about a plumber refusing to change a lightswitch.

sounds to me like they knew it was bad so should've taken extra precautions i've had accidents in the past and just admitted i fucked up, it's far easier to accept something than to deny it.
