For use of running not street cred. I only have street cred dc's and some old air walk which I found out earlier were not the best for a few miles of running in. Perhaps looking at £50 pounds money wise, comfort and support. Hopefully amateur jogger/running people can offer some assistance?

I was told to go to a running shop and get my stride analysed and they will recommend a shoe for my running style, though many friends use brands like New Balance, Mizuno, Asics etc

I use New Balance MT10's, They are amazing for everything.. road/trail running, gymwork.
Being flat soled you shouldn't need your stride analysed.

Yup, go to a proper sports/running shop as they'll be able to look at your running style and recommend a handful of trainers based on that.
I ended up heading to Sweatshop in MK, after about 10/15mins running around like a div the guy offered me a range of shoes (anything from 50/60 to a few hundred) but he actually recommended a pair of New Balance's which were in the sale for £40.

I useto work for a running specialist called complete runner, I definately recommend getting your feet analysed.
I need a light supportive trainer and for me Nike fit best. NB do two width fittings. Asics are a good.
I recommend trying complete runner. They have a shop in ilkley and one in nelson.

Have you looked into cycling? I tried running but it killed my knees. I've got a pair of Adidas marathon 10, really nice and springy, if that helps.

I've tried them machines, and found them pretty shit and very boring. At least on a bike you can go to different places, you must have some nice places to go to out your way. I go out over the downs. Might be worth looking at a second hand bike, which is what I did.

I have Mizuno Wave Inspire 6 running shoes, and because I'm a fucking rebel I wear them when lifting weights too.

I did a bit of research and you can get an idea about what trainers you need via your footprint when your foots sweaty or wet, if its a complete foot shape you are flat footer, if the middle of your foot print is missing you have a high arch so need something that supports this. Then I went and bought some cheap asics, 30 quid or so from the previous years collection, don't fall for all latest trainer shite just get some cheap ens and crack on!
