You still see these everywhere:

But I hardly ever use them. I use them when they are on business cards, which I've only encountered twice, unfortunately.

Curious as to what other peoples habits are, as we use them on every piece of marketing material we send out.

Did it once as I was intrigued.

Got my phone out.
Searched the app store for a QR app.
Downloaded and installed it.
Started the app, waited for the thing to scan.
Got sent to a website loosely connected to the advert it was placed on.
Uninstalled app.

Waste of time, wouldn't bother again.

It seems really pointless. The times I've tried it it just takes you to the website for that product. I could have just done that myself through the browser, which imo would have been easier.

Been to stores where they use them for links to discounts or offers.

isnt that the idea though? Just snap the code instead of opening your browser and possibly googling it?

Wasn't it widely discussed in the media that QR codes were utterly pointless, no-one used them and most companies are dropping them?

With the site i'm about to make there will be a QR code for each product. Easier for people to share etc. You'd be surprised as to the traffic that's generated.

I use them a lot, soley because of networking events and saves me adding / scanning in business cards. Without that, i'd never use them, load of shit imo.

If its on tv, no.

Not noticed them on the telly.

See QR, pause TV, get phone out, get up and walk to TV to capture QR.

Who's stupid idea was that!

I was thinking about it instead of spec sheets at shows, scan that and it takes you to the project thread or something. Got a few issues, namely they're a pain in the ass to make out of vinyl and I wasn't exactly sure what to do about the incoming URL in case it changed.
