Who's still got some??

I've bought Alfie the "Italian Job" set for Xmas. Just had a look on the website. Reckon I could get bitten by the bug again

When I was a kid I had the Ford Escort XR3i set, and loads of extra stuf. Probs about 20 cars in total. My dad's mate had his whole attic set up with a huge track. He used to give me loads of stuff too. He taught me about putting talc on the bends so you could get the cars to drift.

Looking forward to xmas day.

I had a truck racing one but also a Ford Fiesta XR3i one too, had them set up in the loft at our old house, was awesome fun when you got a decent close race going and not playing a retard who couldnt keep it on the track

Saying that it was also fun seeing how big a crash you could pull off

I had all mine setup last autumn, stayed assembled around my front room for about 4 months.

Still got it all, have put it back away for now.

I have the XR3i set, the old F1 set (Camel car & Silverstone) and the Calibra set and bought a job lot of loose Track, cars and accessories etc on eBay locally and fairly cheap.

We've got shit loads in the loft. Probably near on 20 odd tracks and then shit laods of random bits of track!

Not used it all in a while but last time it was out we made it run the whole downstairs

I remember I bought an automatic lap counter and me and my dad would be there for an hour or 2 racing.
Epic.

I also remember having those red and white barriers to put round the edge of the track, and flags you could put in the barriers. I stood on one of the flags and it stuck into the bottom of my foot and peed blood everywhere. Being about 9 I thought it was a major injury and was balling my eyes out.

This was what I managed to get working on 1x old style Power Transformer (just)

Found the cars were a bit slow and it was annoying having to move so often when I crashed, so condensed itdownto this, with 2x Transformers, which was much better;

I might dig it all out again when I get home....

There's those evil barriers and flags!!!!

That brings back memories!!! The crossover and the chicane where the tracks get dead close.

If you look on eBay there's a company that will sell you a 13 square foot track for £1250.

A friend of mine just got his son a micro set, any idea if there are extra cars/track available for this scale - or just the starter kit type packages?

I had the le mans 24 hour set, the jaguar was a lot more planted than the longer Porsche though so it was a lot easier to use, my brother who's 11 years older, always made sure he had the jag!

still remember the christmas we got the porsche turbo set (our first scalextric set)
set it up straight away in the family room and when it got dark we turned all the lights off for some night racing then boxing day went to the local toy shop to buy extra track.
Good times

maybe this is what started my porsche obsession http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Scalextric-Porsche-Turbo-Black-car-gold-basket-decals-number-5-Rebuilt-C364-/230794504996
