Been wanting to get rid of the fiesta for a while and got a good deal on one of these through work. It's a 1.0.ecoboost so petrol turbo. quite a good engine indeed. I only did 50 miles in it before flying to scotland and it was perfect on motorways, which is where it'll.spend 90% of its life.
I wanted frozen white paint.originally, but they had no stock left, so went for black with appearance pack (17'' alloys and privacy glass).
I personally hate the rear lights. They just look too big. It's for the other half to commute to work and for when we drive to scotland, so I don't really care

Nothing wrong with that to commute in, looks nice enough  Better than white aswell seen as it's a 5 door.

Am I reading that right, a 1 litre engine? In a focus? Surely that will be terrible MPG on motorways?

is it the 125bhp?
we had one in for a customer with this engine was really suprised by it for the size of the engine.
dannymccann- in the future there is talk about putting it in the mondeo

It's actually really good, danny.
At 80mph it sits at about 3k rpm, whereas the fiesta was at almost 4k rpm. This is also a lot quicker from 70-90 than the fiesta was, so ideal for overtaking.

Only the 100, unfortunately. Will be fine for the missus.
The engine is definitely going into the mondeo, and is also going to go into the s-max. You can get approx 150bhp from them just from a remap.

My 2l diesel Astra sits at 3k @ 80mph Assume it's a six speeder then and geared appropriately in the final gear. It sounds pretty interesting tbh, would be great to have the benefits of turbo petrol for acceleration yet diesel benefits at cruising speed in 1 package

Will be interesting to see what sort of mpg you will get.
Allot of people on talkford.com only getting mid 30's.
Think it's quite a common problem!

Looks quite nice tbh! Amazing what bhp and torque you can get per litre now.
Can you get a style pack (like the ST) for the old shape focus on non-ST models, like the a diesel engined one?

There's no way a 1 litre turbo petrol engine in a focus could yield better MPG and say a 1.5/1.6 diesel in the real world. I rekon you'll be seeing high 30's
Looks really nice though dials are swish!

Corsa 12vs with old tech did good MPG. No reason why this wouldn't do the same, with all features on the new Focus e.g. closing grills, stop start.
Looks good. Ideal motor if you don't do silly miles but want diesel running costs.

It's slightly worse, but petrol and the car cost ££££'s less than a diesel equivalent...

the big advantage over a diesel is the packaging of the engine. It is incredibly light.
Ford Australia have dropped the I4 2.0 Ecoboost engine into the Falcon. That car weighs about 1800kg and the engine copes admirably. It does have 240bhp and 240lb/ft to back it up though.

There is an ecoboost V6 pushing out 365bhp and 350lb/ft...

Taking the cost of new vs new then I suppose so...
But isn't this a 'big' car that's designed to be pootled around town? Doesn't strike me as a motorway motor at all  suppose it's just mind I've matter with me and the games moved on.
