only thing is poor customers will have to go through a manslaughter trial but if he was wearing a mask it would be hard for them to notice if he had stopped breathing, and they were protecting life by restraining him if he had a gun

Sounds like they probably sat on him, squashing wind pipe or similar, and unintentionally killed him.

Harsh way to go being suffocated, but if you enter that situation, you should expect a chance of dying.

You say it like you have a problem with the fact the current legal system doesn't allow you to kill someone with out incurring some form of legal investigation

My opinion is that as soon as you step out side the law, your human rights go straight out of the window.

So in this case. it's clear what was going to happen and he paid the ultimate price for his decision. case closed.

This

cant stand people who bleat on about the rights of criminals as if they are the victim, what about the normal everyday law-abiding people

Couldn't agree more. If you decide to break the law, you deserve no rights in the slightest.

I was having a convo with a guy at work, about his missus job. She is very high up in a local prison, I think she has a lot of say in wether inmates get released early etc, ad has a lot of face to face dealings with the criminals. She cannot see any wrong in any of them, She agrees what they have done is wrong, and the time they serve should suit the crime, but, she believes every case is always related to a mental health issue, which the criminal has no control over, or they have a bad upbring (i.e, their parents are drug addict, so having been bought up in them circumstances, they learn to think from a young age, that's the correct way to be etc). She even says she feels sorry for most of them.

:/

Going to not jump on this bandwagon and I'm going to say that he was probably a desperate man.

Who knows, debts? christmas bills? drugs?
There's no doubt that his actions were wrong, and they cost him dearly.

I hope the customers and staff aren't traumatised, that's all.

Not defending him at all.

Just trying to open peoples eyes, that there may be an underlying reason for his very desperate and inappropriate actions..Rather than everybody assuming he's a cunt. He is a cunt, obviously, but just saying, there may be reasons..people have no idea what it's like to have debt collectors turn up daily. phone calls, letters.

Saying all that, chances are he was just a smackhead and deserved it.

I just wanted to make the point that too much bandwagon hopping was going on and the gas mask bandit may have found himself in a very difficult situation. Not every robber does it because they want to.

disclaimer: I don't condone his actions at all, I've never robbed, not backing him up. Only trying to make people less judgmental.

Should be a 2 strikes and out rule for stuff like that.

If you've been in jail for armed robbery, get out, do another armed robbery, you clearly haven't been reformed and should probably be left in a tiny room with no windows until you die.
