Sme head office people where let go, so they jumped on twitter (HMV's official) to announce they where being fired.
The orchestrator of the event a lady who works there is apparently blaming it on them not listening to her about the importance of social media.
Not that they sold shit twice the price it costs on Amazon/Tesco or anything

Its a place where pretentious people go to feel like they are all part of some massive group of important people or to get your ego stroked by having people follow you talking about utter shite you wouldn't bother to mention in real life.

Twitter is useful for following important or interesting people, as for the average user, who gives a shit about what your tweeting? It is 100% an attention seeking medium for most general public who tweet

I follow lots of regular people. Either because of a big overlap in interests or because I enjoy their views and/or work.
I follow a few fellow graphic artists and enjoy watching their work as well as reading about their experiences.

Twitter once was a useful tool for networking but i have to agree with Steve/Jim in that it's mostly an ego, attention seeking medium.
Back on topic, it just sounds like bitterness and perhaps they have a reason to be (no doubt the folks at the top are all safe) but as said this shite happens all the time so it isn't unexpected and airing it on twitter is far from professional.
