The golf is an 09 plate with 40k miles running about 260bhp and up for £14.5k. The Leon is a 10 plate with 28k miles running 360+bhp and up for £12.5k

The Leon stands out for me. Looks FAST and more importantly is. Although all that power through the front wheels will be a handful at times!

Golf. The Leon's feel really poor in comparison to a Golf. I don't like the look the Leon either. 260bhp is hardly shy either.

This is a hell of a lot closer than I thought it would be. I expected the golf to win by miles.

Tom - the M3s are old hat now so that's not an option lol.

Nah, the golf has evolved over the years, most other cars radically change to look similar to something else, I.e: copying.

IMO the Leon is trying too hard with random lines and "styling" All the lines i see on it are stolen from other things, CTR, Astra VXR. Cover the front half of that pic with your hand and look at the state of the side/rear qtr/doors etc, maybe its just my eyes

I would go with the Golf.

When you close the door on the Leon, it will sound like a Golf, but it still won't be a Golf.

leon any day of the week.

dislike the golf interiors especially the burberry seats in the gti's.

but also its cheaper, newer and less miles on it... bit of a no brainer in my eyes.

I may be slightly biased mind...
