its shocking to see how others do things and what goes on behind the scenes in food production. its more shocking just how much of this food enters the uk when its methods and standards are ilegal here!! not sure if halal is but other counties food production methods and the way they raise the animals have been band in the uk and in the eu yet most of the eu still carry on producing meet the old way and we (the uk) do it the new way at greater expense. makes me mad!

You would think so and tbh it probably is, but they probably are refering to the total process as in the UK they may need to take reasonable measures to make sure the welfare is high until the point they die

girlfriends uncle has a restaurant in france (where "they" have less rights than here) and a group came in asking if the meat was halal, it isn't, and he just went "yep" and didnt tell them the place was a converted slaughter house either

Everything Muslims do is backward IMO . I know it's only an animal but nothing deserves to have its throat cut whilst alive. My uncle owned a abattoir and the normal method is far more humain ( still bad to watch ). IMO people should boycott eating halal . As we all know they go for money before religious acts. Just no one has any bollocks to stand up and face them. Totally fucked up culture from start to finish

That's horrible. I must admit that i've had my head buried in the sand all this time, and i honestly didnt know that "their" way of killing these animals was a savage and as brutal as this. How anyone can do that to an animal is totally beyond me.

There's so much more i want to say which would have me branded as a racist, so i'll keep my thoughts to myself.

I had to turn the video off when the poor cow was about to be turned upside down in that machine

Oh, and my Mrs works in a prison where all they serve is Halal meat (due to the sheer number Paki drug dealers which are in there), and I laughed hard when i found out that non-Halal meat had been served in prison food for a long time...when it shouldn't have been

I am not one to bang on about animal rights, etc. But that video shocked me, what reason do they have not to stun the animals? As someone said it's surely cheaper (and more humane) to stun first. That is just causing unnecessary suffering.
