I'm currently sat in a car park after we came back from shopping to find someone had hit the gfs car, luckily a couple had seen it and waited behind to tell us.
We have got their details and his reg and photos of the damage to his car and hers,
What can we do other than wait for him to come back?

call the police. he left the scene of an accident, although as no one was injured, they'll most likely just give you a crime reference number to pass onto your insurance company.

did they say why he left?

Contact the police, although if its a private car park isn't there some think about the police not getting involved? Don't hold me to that though

Yea he's just parked up and left it, it's a tesco car park, they are putting a call out in the store but the witnesses seem to think he didnt go in tesco. I didn't really want to ring the police as I didn't think they would do much but that will be the next port of call.

He left no details just walked off. He could've informed the police I suppose. I'm more pissed off that he didnt leave a note or anything.

You need the details of the witness if you dont already have them otherwise saying it was this guy wont stand up. Somone went into my corsa in an asda carpark and drove off. Despite a witness leaving me his reg and car make he just denied it and with no proof i got stung really.

I've got witness name and number and are happy to provide a statement etc, I've just rang the police and they say we've got to report it in person within 24 hours, which is going to be difficult.

I don't get why hit it, never left details but still left his car there?? People usually drive off and park elsewhere at least.

i had the exact same thing when driving my nova
told police details of the car, i didnt have the witness details, few weeks later got a call from thier insurance company and they paid the bill as i had already repaired it.

You have to go to a police station in person to complete an accident book. Take all witness details. Your driving licence proof of insurance etc it will speed things up.

I have had this recently. I was working and my car was parked on the car park and someone hit my car and drove off. Luckily there was a witness and be got the reg number. I had the details of the car and the witness details. I contacted the police and they paid him a visit and we have sorted it out without going through the insurance although he is still being done for driving off from the scene of the accident. So it's worth ringing them again. Plus seeing if the store have CCTV and caught it.

Exactly what has happened and is happening. He got in contact with me in the morning after, said he didn't realise he had hit her car but admitted hitting it.
