I've been keeping my last couple of cars in the garage at the house, but my new car doesn't fit in there. I never really had a problem with bird poo so didn't give it much thought, but now that the car sits outside all the time beside a tree full of birds it's constantly covered in crap

It annoys me, but not to the point were I will clean it off straight away, but probably every couple of days I'd get the crap off.

Just wondered how you folks felt about it. Is it really as bad as everyone makes out?

I won't necessarily clean it off straight away. But it gives me an incentive to wash the car sooner than I perhaps would have done.

Ah, so it really can make a visible difference if left for a long time.

In the summer when it's sat there getting baked on I clean it off as soon as I can (i.e when I get home from work).

I get it off ASAP. Bloody fabric roof is a bastard after its been targeted. My driveway seems to be a fly past at the moment so it's getting covered every morning

Yeah, bird shite is acidic so it tends to etch the paint if you leave it too long. Usually polishes out though.

Personally it depends on where it is and how much. If its a lot or somewhere visible it gets washed off when possible. If not, then when ever.

I try and get it off soon as I see it when I get home from work in the evenings! Left one on the bonnet for about a week in the sun and its "etched" into the paint! Need to get the polisher out and compound it back !

Keep some quick detailer type product to hand and get it wiped off gently.

Luckily no trees/lamp posts near me - but at work it can get smothered if I get a naff parking spot.

Unfortunately one of my neighbours who is a foul , fat disgusting excuse of a woman feeds the seagulls so theres about 30-40 seagulls flying around all day so its a rarity for the car to go a week without getting shat on!

I always remove it as soon as I see it.

My paint seems to etch really easily, so I have to.

Luckily my B sits in the garage most of its life, so it's very rare it gets bird shite on it - however incase it does I always keep a pack of wipes in the car, it can do more damage than people think to your paint work :/

Won't fit in the garage Generation.

Also thought about shooting them with an air rifle, but its at the front of the house and some of the nighbours have young kids so don't think it would be appropraite.

Tree will be getting cut down. There were two up until a couple of months ago when i cut the other one down. EDIT: They are always on the roof as well though.

Must say I'm sligtly surprised that most people have ticked option one rather than option two. Those wipes do look like a good idea though.

I would cut my problem tree down, but I think my dad would have something to say about that.

Get rid as soon as I see it and I'm able to.

When I went on holiday a bird shit on my spoiler whilst I was away so could have been there for days, I came back washed it off and it had burnt the paint Nothing I could do about that though

Do a peter griffin, wait until the bird washes it's own car and wait in the tree until it's finished, then take a fat dump on its bonnet and see how they like it.
