Thought I'd start a project thread for this as I've got a few plans for it
It's basically standard but has some cheap crap lowering springs on it (and the M3 wheels)
So, as well as what yo can see, the sale included a tatty set of the original BBS split rims, some M3 mirrors and an assortment of window trims to replace the perished ones on the rear windows.
It's also not quite as good as it looks in the pics, both passenger side arches are showing a bit of bubbling so I'm going to get that sorted ASAP. The front grilles don't match, either one is OE and one is a replacement or something has come unclipped so I'm going to look at that.
Other than that it's just going to get treated to better brakes, suspension and some more power eventually.

looks great in white, very modern and fresh.

Ok so I've had the clutch done and it's perfect, however there's some play in a wheel bearing and some spastic has cross threaded the driveshaft end with the cv joint.
So, now I need to find a driveshaft on a bank holiday weekend so I can have that fitted and the wheel bearing replaced.

Yeah, it's not
Driveshaft damage is due to someone not doing the job right last time, the drive flange is fucked as its had a bearing collapse before, causing it to get scored, they've then replaced the bearing and not replaced the damaged flange.
So, it's not just the driveshaft, it's the shaft, flange, bearing and handbrake cable as that's seized in and can't be re-attached
It also had no diff oil in it - 75w140 limited slip stuff (WTF?!) which is expensive even to me!
Really hoping this is it as my plan for a cheap car has cost me about £600 so far plus the labour to do this stuff.

True Gav, just wish I'd known before as I would have haggled a bit more! Hopefully this will be the last of it, then I can spend money on things I want, rather than need!

Very nice. My mate bought a black one of these with the LSD with 130k on it. Went well for 10k, then shat itself in every possible annoying way. I'm never bleeding a rad on one of these again
