As above. Fancy doing a late night run to Alton Towers and staying for a night.

Would prefer to have somewhere to have a kip for a few hours 1st then hit the park and then stay the night.

But ive no idea on where's close etc. Tried googling and what not but would prefer to have real life experience/advice on places.

I'd imagine unless you were staying at the Alton Towers Hotel, you'd still likely need to drive to the park anyway, so any hotel in the town would suffice.

Yeah im prepared to drive to the park.

Just looking for recommendations for places within maybe 10 miles of the park. Places others have stayed so i can look them up before hand, see what there like, and if they have any rooms.

Its a 5 hour drive, don't want to book some random place that might turn out to be a complete shit hole.

Don't go for Stoke, its too far away. Ashbourne has a travel Lodge, My missus' family have a hotel in Ashbourne too.

Got big brand hotels in Uttoxeter too but tbh, there are hundreds of guesthouses, pubs, etc. around Towers.

It depends what you want but if its just to get your head down, go for the Travel Lodge in Ashbourne which is 10minutes away

Thanks.

Yeah not after anything too fancy. Think best plan will be to drive down early morning, check in somewhere, hit the park, then go back and stay the night at the digs.

Will Ashbourne be a safe bet to head for and find somewhere or any other towns that would be better??

its a ball ache to get from via the A52 and easy to cock up. Ashbourne, Leek, Uttoxeter give easier access - Ashbourne especially

Thanks folks.

Think ive found somewhere via laterooms.com.

The Lilac in Ashbourne. 5 miles from the park @£60 a night sounds decent from the review.

how much is the hotel at Alton Towers, we stayed there a few years ago but it was a prize so not sure on cost. However getting in the park early was the best thing ever. Got all the best rides done before it opened to the public.

I stayed in a premier inn which was about a 20mins drive from that park. Much cheaper than the Hotels on site and was part of some deal

Asked the mrs just now. There's actually a B&B right at the main gates, £63 a room.

Just been to AT today. Fully expected the new ride to still be closed after it broke down on the press demo

Turned out it opened just as we got to it, it puts even our old favourite (Nemesis) in the shade and even rivals some of the Florida rides tbh.

Premier Inn at Trentham Gardens is ok. Just ask for a room at the front of the hotel as the main road behind is quite noisy. Frankie & Bennys on site too.
