my brother just got one of these, as a door 2 door sales man,
6 days a week, includes admin work, only pay is £30 per sale,
should also note a £15 cost to him in travel and food per day,
what are peoples opinions on this sort of thing,
personally i think hes a moron for doing it.

Terrible idea, but its a job. Assuming he isn't shit at it, it won't be a complete waste of time.
I couldn't do it, especially if the product he's selling is no good.

What is he selling Tom?
Door to door seems so old fashioned these days. I can remember someone trying to sell a vacuum when I was younger

Girl I was seeing had Kirby round to clean her hall carpet. I said they'd try and sell her one, she said I know they try every year, and I always pretend to be interested then throw them out when its done.

You've either got to be super confident, desperate or dumb to do a job like that imho.

It was charity too..
Learn all the techniques like nodding when you ask a question and other person automatically nods if done right.
Making them laugh when open door etc its all bullshit.
"Don't worry nothing serious, whilst laughing" they automatically laugh, which drops defence barrier etc.
Also had presentation on 100k a year bullshit, didn't believe. Earned myself few hundred and quit

I could only see it being good if you were getting 5+ sales a day, but I doubt anyone manages that.

one of my mates did this, quit after a couple of weeks, his flatmate also does it and gets about £400 a week out of it at the mo, which is good for summer uni work. however, the flat mate has also been convinced he can get up to this £100k mark by moving up in the company and is thinking about fucking quitting uni the moron

Quiting uni
Wise move
tbh I'd only work for one of these companies if it was run by Nev.

Sounds like my worst nightmare. You have to be a certain character to sell stuff that you don't believe in or isnt a good product/service.
I had a job trying to sell gas and electric to businesses via telephone, I towed my bollocks off despite it being a genuine money saver for businesses. I once did a quote that saved a business 700 a week (business had loads of properties) and she still said no, fuck knows how some people run businesses!

This sounds like a perfect opportunity to suggest Kleeneze/Betterware, easy 100k a year working for them.

If 100k was so easy they'd pay you £45k plus benefits and pocket the rest.
The reason it's comission only is it's too shit to guarantee you a wage. Should be illegal IMHO. Scammers and scum.

When I had sales staff, they were commission only. Works both ways. They got paid well too.

We are looking to do it as a company. Slightly different rules but hoping its going to boost sales as present we have an aging sales force who presently earn good money and all comfortable, the backwards commission scheme means that they can all earn more money in fuel allowance than they can selling a service. I have high expectations that it may have a high turnover of staff due to stress but should result in productive results when they are working. The best part is that its all self funded.
