right ive got my friends and family discount, but didnt take out sports and movies thinking we wouldnt watch them. this has now changed! in the local shopping centre theres a guy who will add them for half price for 6 months, i rang up to ask if they could beat this by just applying my current discount to the upgrade and i'll keep it for the duration rather than just 6 months.

i could only get through to standard sales, foreign call centre who struggled to understand what i actually wanted, let alone offer me any deals. so does anyone know who would be better to try and get in touch with?

You need to be out of contract but try going through retentions and threaten to cancel your Sky package - you might be lucky and they'll throw in a load of channels, if not you cancel and take up a contract with "this guy" (although that sounds shading as fuck unless he works for Sky).

I think Lee has just taken it out.

My brother done the same and regretted not taking sport+movies, never managed to get anybody to add it on cheap for him.

Which case there is bugger all leverage and chances of getting someone at Sky to stick on cheap channel packages is going to nie impossible.
Only option is to cancel the contract if you're within the 'cooling off' period and pick up another; otherwise it's a case of hindsight and you know to shop around next time.

i already receive a 50% discount, just want to see if i can add more channels and apply that discount to it.
the leverage i have is that ive been offered it for 6 months by the sky sales guys in the local shopping centre, with no obligation to keep it fter those 6 months. if i get that ill cancel in 6 months because i cant justify paying full price afterwards, but if they'll give it me for the 10 months i have left on my contract i'll keep it for that long.

now, i just need to find someone english to discuss it with. foreign call centres dont know what im talking about, and even if they did i dont think they can even offer anything beyond the standard options on their screen.

Still seems like your chances are slim but as said, give retentions a phone and see where that gets you.

Just phone the normal number and say you want to quit, and you'll get put through to the we-want-your-business-so-may-or-may-not-give-you-free-shit department.

im in contract though, so i can't even threaten to leave.
no need to be threatening, anyone with an ounce of sense will give it to me, ill be paying them more money. i just cant seem to get past the first line of call centres

I believe Sky do actually have UK staff, so phone during UK business times and persevere with it

They do that to me all the time, normally for months after they've applied a discount. The bills are always to complicated to work out how much they've conned you by.

not complicated at all, theres just no discount anymore. had to raise a customer support ticket or whatever they called it. ive cancelled my direct debit, fuck paying them i'll never see the money back.
ive confirmed that the person i spoke to said i can keep my discount on the whole thing, it just seems not even retentions can apply the discount to my account.

This is why I refuse to have sky, mobile contracts etc, you always end up paying more than you think/agreed.

Sky's overrated. Can't think of a single thing I've missed in the last few years other than the record functionality which is easily replaced with a freeview recorder.

dont think i watch anything thats available on freeview anymore. always got a sky only channel on.
its my own fault for fucking about, if i hadnt the price probably wouldnt have changed.
however what im annoyed about is that i checked and double chekced with the girl on the phone who assured me my discount was there andi t was an extra £15, even when it had been activated and i had sky sports on in front of me.
