If it's anything like Alanya it'll be insanely dirty and everywhere you go you'll be pestered to buy genuine Niek shorts and Oakeyl shades.
Also, all restaurants have laminated menu's with pictures of the food, which in my experience is pretty much a guarantee that the only thing the food will be good for is giving you the shits.
If it's nothing at all like Alanya, then it might be quite nice...

See, my perception of Turkey is exactly that. But my parents keep going to Olu Deniz and they love it. Sounds like a total lottery so far.

Turkey sucks balls!
If all you want out of your vacation is some sun, a pool and drinks with umbrellas then I'm sure it's fine.
Same as Egypt and any other shit hole where the list of entertainment is topped by being dragged behind a boat in some kind of inflatable device.

Never been to Marmaris but had the best holiday I've ever had, other than Florida, in Gumbet/Bodrum.
The entire opposite of the normal perception - place was clean, people were lovely and food and drink were spot on.

Is what my folks keep saying. They've been to tons of places, and the only place they've ever revisited is Turkey.

Went last year.
10 times better than the typical Spanish holiday resorts.
Not dirty in the slightest!
Very few 'looky looky' men, even the restaurants are not over keen. They approach you, ask if you would like to come in, if you say no they leave you alone.
Very cheap! We had a fantastic 4 course meal in a lovely restaurant within the harbour area, including beer and wine for 40lira! About 13 at the time I think.
Fresh proper kebabs for about 60p
Day trips can be amazing, we did the Turtle Beach trip, about £14 each, out for the entire day including food. You do Mud baths as well which are a good laugh.
I would go again over a Spanish holiday easily!!!

Marmaris....
A little hotel called 'Rosy Apartments'
Had an issue with our room the first day, which ended up with me and the receptionist going at each other
Which in turn ended with a massive fruit bowl and booze delivered to us

I think me and spencer went to a different marmaris . Every shop hassled you .
Nath our hotel was nice but when you stepped out it went downhill . My lass likes markets so we went to a few , I half expected them to pest you there but I nearly combusted with how full on they was.
Ill ask her when I get home the name of hotel .

As i said stay away from the markets, you wil be fine if you plan your holiday around small day trips and boat trips to some of the nearby islands

What dates are you looking at going? We went towards the end of the season which may be why we loved it.

Height of summer
It's an all inclusive resort though and has brilliant reviews. I just want to chill out for a week.
