Shes too close to being able to pull herself over that for comfort, can't you lower the base more?

Aye, chuck a baby gate on the door of her room and remove the sides. Unless there is another stage the mattress can drop to like my sons does.

Deffo either drunk and singing to herself, or she's a ballerina on the quiet and she's just practising.

we didn't even bother with the baby gate, if she wakes up she shouts us, or comes up to us, never had a problem on the stairs

My lad 'shows' an interest in the stairs as he likes to walk up and down them with us a step lower to catch him if he stumbles. So we personally wouldn't chance it but having those bars gone would make life seriously easier!
How old is your little'un?

Mine is nearly 2 and a half now. We did intend to get a baby gate for her room, but she got to the point when we got her a proper bed (about 7 months ago) that we knew she'd be fine on the stairs. We got a 3 storey thing, so shes had to get used to them!

Funny you should say that mate..

Shes just went 15 months but has been walking since 11. Had a baby gate on her room for ages so thats not an issue. Just noticed exactly how close she is to getting over it tbh, have ordered one of those things that stop them falling out then will convert to a cot bed.
Ohhh and thats as low as the base goes
