Whats the deal here? Does the ache go away after doing it for a while. Didn't really do any warm up etc. Just hitting the weights.

Thought doing it again the next day would sort it out. Or are you meant to leave it till aching stops then start again.

Curling 6kgs for now. Also did something like squatjogs while carrying the weights and legs ache as well as arms.

The more frequently you train, the less you will get DOMS.

Always hurts the most after the first couple of times. When I used to go to the gym I wouldn't train those muscles again until the soreness had gone as the muscle hasn't fully repaired. Work different muscle groups until the pain has gone.

And what Jason x said.

6kg is a lot for a beginner, you should really be starting with nothing for the first couple of months. Try to imagine your holding the weights. Youll be amazed how much you can lift in, your mind.

Don't think i'll bother with eating differently, don't want to be a bodybuilder, just be a bit fitter.

Might even get the mountain bike out again

Still hurts me 2 days after doing the weights. Especially leg work. Just get used to it tbh and get on with life.

I get stretching out before using weights but what is the best post-workout cool down. I overdid it last Thursday and when I woke up Friday and Saturday, I couldn't straighten my arms fully; felt like I'd done something to the tendons - it went off by Sunday night and it's not done it since. I assume it happened because I finished and pretty much went straight to be with no cool down.

Screw that, just do 3 or 4 sets and go heavier each time. Then on to the next exercise.

Yep that's what I do. Then after a while, when it becomes a bit easier, increase the weights slightly.
