I couldn't decide if this should be home day, or sports day, so I'll just leave it here

I booked a holiday to Barcelona a few weeks ago and wanted to get into shape for that so I bought a few bits and bobs and some weights and set up a little home gym in a spare room. Here's how it's looking...

Anyone else got a home gym?

Well I come back from the holiday on June 8th, so maybe just after that

Nah, I have another room for storage. Kinda doubles up as my studio.

The cheek! The wide angle makes the weights look smaller, but that's 56kg on the bar.

I never said when my holiday was did I?

As of tomorrow I'll have been at it for 5 weeks. I've lost over a stone, increased my strength and toned up a little.
I have another 10 weeks until my holiday so I should be able to see a decent difference.

If i ever wanted a home gym i would just have a barbell, some space and a squat rack. Maybe a kettlebell. Exercises are endless

I work from home so it's just more convenient.

Running up and down the stairs with cans of beans is better than any gym

Well yeah, but what if you can't afford beans? We're not all ballers here.

I was tempted to get a treadmill, but I have quite bad knees and I've heard that running doesn't do much good for that, so I bought a road bike instead.

Just lifting weights doesn't make people fit, its just for vain people really.

You end up looking more like a 50yr old bricklayer and walk about out of breath

You'll very quickly require heavier weights if your looking to gain muscle.

I toyed with the idea but for a proper setup & the amount of dedication I have when at home it wouldnt be worth it. I just use a pay each session gym & when im away I go 2-3 times a day, mainly because theres feck all else to do.
