Some old cow has just clipped the clio then drove away....
So i nipped to halfords with the bairn and mrs before going out for tea... They stayed in car and witnessed it
She pulled into a bay in her rover 25, she then reversed to straighten up and clipped my drivers side mirror - folding hers back in the process - the mrs being the spastic that she is didn't confront her but instead opted to wait and tell me on my return
So i check the car and whilst theres no visible damage, the mirror cover is now loose and rattling
I decide to top my oil up and see an elderly woman get in the pass side of the rover - i think must be waiting for the driver in another shop...
Nope, she scootches across and starts the car - then proceeds to try and drive away
I tap the window which she winds down..
Me: excuse me, you clipped my wing mirror before, its damaged it
Her: no i didn't your lying
Me: you did my mrs was sitting in the car - yours is even still folded back
Her - your just trying to con me
Me - its not like I'm trying to claim whiplash - what have i got to gain
Her - because your car isn't worth anything or up to par
She starts reversing so i get photos
Me - if you drive away, I'm calling police, we can sort this like adults
She then drove away
I got these pics
Fairly pissed off to say the least
Police are coming at 7, cant see me getting anything out of it - she will just deny it, hoping car park has cctv.
Would be happiest if she will just pay to fix it.
Going through insurance is probably going to cost me more than the repair in the long run.

Follow it through as far as you can with the old bat. An accident is one thing but knowing you've done it and denying it, probably just because she thinks being old gives her the right, is another.

I was pretty relieved still - if you look shes pretty close even after straightening up..

Just scratches right through to the plastic. May be ok with a smart repair, rather than a whole bumper respray.
really fucks me off that people can't just accept they messed up and pay up.

Also i was out on my road bicycle yesterday too as it happens...
