But I still stand by my statement: The MB Vito drives better!
I have been looking for a base van for ages which had to meet certain requirements:
* Tidy.
* Reasonable mileage.
* 2.5L 6-speed.
* Tail-gate.
* Any colour other than white.
* Have A/C + Electrics pack (windows/mirrors etc.).
* Not cost the earth.
This basically rules out 99.9% of Transporters on the road
But then I stumbled across a 2005 van (which was a lot older than I had intended to buy) that had been converted 5 years ago, the van its self is an absolute GEM but the conversion is really started to show its age! It was good enough quality (EvoMotion + Smart Bed with a proper fridge and burner/sink combo) but its a bit dark and dated.

Also it was a bit of a billy bargain!
The plan is to pretty much leave the van as is, although I might swap out the side glass for sliding ones and then try to brighten up the interior with some nicer floor & unit laminate.
But knowing me it will bore me after 6 months

All those times in the other thread saying you wouldn't get one. Fair play to you though.

I never said I wouldn't buy a T5.. I said I'd never buy a T4. What I said was I can't understand why they are so f**king expensive and why people believe they are any better than a Vito

campers arent really my thing tbh. i prefer hotels and b&b's
dont see why you bought one if you wanted a vito? did you feel pressurised into it?
definitely the best choice to make though.

There isn't half as much stuff around for the Vito conversion and the 'converted' vans that are forsale appear to have been converted by mongrels.
If a really nice auto vito conversion had showed up for similar money I'd have bought it in the blink of an eye.

youd question why people dont convert vitos, my educated guess is because they are a badly made shit van.

A cult of weirdos imo, i can't see what is appealing about a van unless you want to move a fridge

mine is more of what is called a day van, or kombi style as the coined the phrase now. its not really a van inside anymore. it can move 5 people comfortably, and a lot of stuff in the back. i can transport 5 bikes and gear easily along with 5 people. perfect for what i need.
