Apparently the police are starting to prosecute people under the vehicle construction and use regulations for having the wrong size tyres fitted to stupidly wide wheels that also stick out, hopefully this will get a few death traps off the road!

The lad just got a lovely 3 points and £100 fine per wheel..

Now if only they could start prosecuting the fucking morons with suspension so low they have to slow down to an almost stand-still to drive over a stone.

That's in an industrial estate in Wakefield which is a common place for the modified car people to go of a Sunday eve.

At bloody last.

I don't think that is 3 points per wheel is it? I read it as 3 points (overall) and £100 fine per wheel.

I don't really care how people mod their cars nowadays as there will always be a craze, but when the day comes where I feel the need to moan about how people mod their cars or vans in certain ways on a forum aimed at cars and modding then that to me will confirm I should no longer be part of those type of forums.

Death traps... i think is a little ott. Plenty more cars out there with issues than ill fitting tyres.

I bet if you fought it, it wouldnt stand as its just an opinion of the officer that the tyres are illegal as there isnt a legal standpoint on what tyres go on what size rim.

I'd give them another few points and fine for having one of those wank windscreen stickers too.

Front tyres look perfectly fine to me. I had the same stretch on the rear of my Z4 and whilst it broke traction quicker than a normal fitting tyre would've, it didn't kill me... It also managed a road trip to Scotland and back perfectly fine.

I think the police should get rid of the wankers driving around in shag wagons which are glorified pikey vans.

Just because you had it done to does not make it perfectly fine.

I drove to Scotland and back with no rubber left in my front lower arm bush on my fabia vrs with constant metal against metal clonking, is that perfectly fine too because I managed that journey?

Similarly I drove from Birmingham to Worcester one day with no brake pad material on my brakes in my 106 gti, with metal on metal grating all the way, using the handbrake where I could. Is that fine too?

The tyre is clearly too small for the wheel width

It doesn't look like it affects the footprint of the tread?
What actually makes it wrong?
Extra stress on sidewalls?

They don't even look that bad - compared to the 'stretched tyre scene'.

You sure they're being done for stretched tyres and not just having the tread depth checked?

Doesn't even look bad to be honest. Now wankers with mad camber driving 50 on a motorway, they need fining!

I was told a few times if the wheel sticks out from the arch too much then that is illegal, maybe they are enforcing that?
