I know nothing about heart rates but I know everyone on here knows best about anything. Does this seem OK for exercise? I'm maybe 3-4lbs over weight for my height, cycle an average of 90-100 miles a week. I don't feel un fit, but perhaps those stats shown I need to try harder?

Many thanks.

Your resting heart rate is probably a better judge of your health

I think most of the newer Samsung phones have a built in application. Apps widely available for other mobile users. You put your finger over the camera and the flash comes on; the camera then detects the blood vessels dilating for your heart rate.

Got me thinking this, dug out the old blood pressure monitor and checked the blood pressure and heart rate.

Age 43.
BMI 33.6 (obese)
Heart rate 54 (athlete)
Blood pressure 118/77 (ideal)

Lifestyle borderline alcoholic with anger issues.

All I can deduce from that is I think it means fuck all. My figures for pulse and blood pressure suggest I'm an athlete which obviously I fucking ain't!

That is an incredibly low resting heart rate considering your BMI and lifestyle

+1 - So often these sorts of tables actually mean sod all - BMI can be the same. Skinny framed person who is overweight = fine according to BMI yet a fit low fat 'stocky' body can be overweight/ obese according to BMI.

My resting heart rate is around 54/52 yet I am far from an Athlete, arguable the unfittest I have ever been
