I bought an amp wiring kit from halfords the autoleads one.
The 8guage power lead came with a 40amp fuse (battery end).
But looking at my amp, it has 2x30amp (60amp) fuses.
I read the amp manual it states:
-
Continuous Current Draw @ Full Power = 55amps
Peak Current Draw @ Full Power = 85amps
Recommended Fuse Size = 30A x2 ATO Style
-
Should i just put a 60amp fuse at the battery end?
Will the cable cope with the current draw?
I'll post up the guage rating of the cable and size later.
I'm a right dodo when it comes to electrics!

keep with the 40 mate, you've only got a problem if it blows. It wont limit power, cos if the amp takes too much the fuse will blow telling you its using more than 40 amps.
But 60 amps would need more than 8 gauge i think

and there was me thinkin' it was your average cheap end amp!
It's built like a brick, and looks quite horrid, but i guess its all in the performance.
The guy was selling more than one of these as well

Why do you two rate the Phoenix Gold XS series so much? It was a budget series that hasn't been made for 4 years.

The XS series packed out a shitload of power. It uses precision components and it may have been called a budget series but they werent.

As long as they push out at least 75w for my speakers i'm not entirely bothered.
i just bought some pro gold power kit (only the power/earth cables) for about £24.
