u can use a thing to strip thepaint called noitromorsite. just apply it with a brush and it wuill peel it off its like an acid but wont do anythin to d metal.

rage extreme sell ALL colours plus manufactures colours so just contac them or ur local paint factor.

wit the nitromorseite there isn much sanding to do but its best to sand it all irst to get a good finish. its probly bes to do it by hand,u cud use a belt sander but it wud giv a shit finish.

after uve done it just spray it wit any amount of laquer lots of cots for real deep finish and a couple of coats for well...a not deep finish thing ?

im not sure on the proces of primer and stuff like that so sumone else can help at that.

dont even think of doin it by pray can u better off get or hirean air gun and compressor than do a shit job.

is the paint job crap at the mo? surely u wont need to strip the paint completley, i wud have thought just rubbing down with 400/800 grit wud be fine depending on condition of the current paint job

i wouldn't use a sanding machine or anything you'll just get loads of flat spots

u wont need to go to bare metal, just use 400 grit sandpaper to take the shine off the paint, u wont need primer either unless uve done any repairs or used body filler anywhere

me and my dad do all spraying on mine, his and my bros car. a lot of knowledge is needed which only comes from experience and practice. from what you have said i dont truthfully think you would come out with a result your happy with. not a dig towards your ability but its something that isnt as easy as you think to do.
try spraying small easy shpaed things first and see if you like what you see. its more than just a case of primer paint and laquer too. you also may need to use an isolater depending on what paint your going to be using, and mixing the paint which i still havent got the hang off, let my dad do that.

YEah, I would agree with Kris, spraying isnt easy if you dont know what you are doing. LEave it to the pro`s if you are at all unsure.
If you want to DIY, then remove as much trim as you can, ie wheel arches, door handles, lights, window rubbers if you can.
Rub it down with 400grit wetndry paper, using the paper wet to stop it clogging up. You dont need to rub down to bare metal, just take off all old polish etc and get a smooth finish. Use filler on any wee dents and dings, and remove all traces of rust or it WILL come back through the new paint in a few weeks time.
Mask everything off that you couldnt remove, (wheels, glass etc)very carefully. Nothing looks worse than overspray everywhere or poorly masked edges.

Once it is all rubbed down, clean it off and apply the primer, The technique for spraying with a comprssor and gun takes a little practice so try it out on a spare door or bonnnet or something.
Leave the paint to dry overnight and then lightly rub over it with 800grit wetndry paper, again using it wet. Re-do any bits of filler that might need it and apply more primer if needed. After its rubbed, you should have a smooth coating of primer that feels almost as smooth as glass.

Also black is a colour that shows up every tiny imperfection, your prep work has to be absolutely perfect to get a smooth flawless finish.
Apply the top-coat using the same technique, and allow it to dry. Give it several thin coats.
Once it has dried fully it will probably have a slight orange-peel finish, so use 1200 grit wetndry keeping the paper soaking wet to rub it all perfectly smooth, then polish it up to a good shine.
You could use cellulose or 2pack paint. 2pack gives a better finish, but is very toxic and requires specialist breathing equipment. Cellulose is easier to get hold of and cheaper too.
Haynes do a "bodywork repair manual" which covers everything you willl need to know.
As I said, if in any doubt, leave it to a profesional.

or alternatively you get the 2pac which doesnt contain cyanide. its the laquer which fucks u up, not the paint.
