What is the most BHP that anyone has got out of the different engines for the corsa? I wanna know how far i can take my 1.4 8v SRi, or if i should just save for a new engine, plus it would be interesting to know anyway. I saw the 2.5 V6 in total vauxhall with 275BHP...

<edit cos im tired and cant spell!>

1.6 can go to 200hp
1.4 could go to around 190-200hp
2.0L go to 250hp
2.0L turbo 300hp

any other engine are just not worth tunning

i wanted to get my 1.4 8v so around 150, but is this possible? I have 270 degree lift fast road cams, straight through performance exhaust, induction kit, and im saving up for a 4 2 1 manifold and chip. Possibly decat pipe too. Imagine having 300bhp in a corsa though!!! Apart from being a bit dangerous, it wud be sooo much fun playing with the big boys!

yes for a 1.4 16V get a inlet manifold, exhaust manifold, exhaust decat, cam and a unichip or a set of TB's for the 8V probably not worth doing but you'd need TB's and to behonest your better off getting a 1.6 16V

i think ill just go for a mappable chip as my insurance said they will cover it without raising my premium, and its not THAT expensive. Then save up for a bigger engine when i can afford the insurance. Im paying £1040 as it is! cheers for the advice tho

I'd just get the bigger engine chip waste of money. UNICHIP costs £420 and will only give you a few extra ponnies. not going to make any differece to behonest. maybe if you fitted other stuff but not on it's own

1.6 can go to 240hp
1.4 could go to around 200+hp
2.0L go to 300hp
2.0L turbo 400hp

Thats what roughy the engines can go to on fast road spec, without Nitrous, and only the turbo having forced induction.

Wouldn't say that. Theres a guy on Mig running a 1.4 8v block and 16v head (think) running throttle bodies and around 175bhp.

Torques never going to be amazing on a small engined NA car.

Still, im sure a 175bhp 1.4 will give a 155bhp 2.0litre a run for its money.

Theres a Tigra done by *Cough homos* Regal. An old guy, been keeping track of it over the last few years. Think thats running around 250bhp+, but has a T25 turbo, lowered compression, NOS, inlet manifold etc etc. Still, bet that shifts some!!
