Right my 1.416v lump is starting to get a little bit tired. So within the next couple of months I'm gonna be looking at a transplant. Which conversion do you all suggest? What will I need? Best place to go? How much from start to finish? and what kind of power would I expect?
Cheers. Dan

Cossvaux do a lot of engine conversions give them a ring they should be able o cater for your every need, i just put a 2.0 cav lump in mine and it runs like a wet dream, tere were a couple of mods like new hubs and engine mounts and some spacers that went on to the suspention arms to stop them making contact with the shiny new 170BHP lump. for something special you are looking at about 3k

there really isnt much weight difference. The chassis is more than strong enough for a 20XE. ITs when you put a V6 in that it starts going pear shaped on corners.

i reckon it could be a bit more responsive in the lower gears but as i have a f28 gearbox its understandable as its ratios make it a lot faster at top end. but bottom end its not as lively as i would like

HAve to disagree. Even though the rations are shorter.
Had a wicked race with a guy on here from Southers a few months back. Beat him every time, couldn't work out why, bigger wheels, 2 up etc.
Then we had a race out of the tolls. Admittedly he had me up to about 40mph, but after that i was on off on off the power cos i was stuck right behined him.
Now being a closer ration box, smaller wheels, 1 person less in the car, he shuold have easily had me up to 100, but nothing like that at all. I think i've got the Long ratio F20 too.
Dan, yeah, thats for everything!!
