Directline wont touch you until your over 25 for an engine transplant, well thats what they told me today. But some people off here have engine mods with them. I'd say your looking around the 2.5-3K mark for insurance anyway.

I'm dropping mine in next few weeks. Been quoted £1600 @ 21 with 0 NCB. That includes like-for-like on all mods *and* engine... with Tesco...

I'll shop around some more but that was my best quote so far...

People don't seem to realise how big a factor like postcode is.

I feel a test is in order.

lets see how much we can get ins'd with diff postcodes using exact same details/car etc.

Say:

Age: 20
Car: corsa gsi (M reg)
Mods: Exhaust/wheels/lowered 40mm
Value: £2500
Occupation: Administration
Industry: Financial Services
No other drivers
0 ncb
no pass plus
excess upto £400
0 points/0 claims

Who ever wants to try this.

Shall we try

liverpool Victoria
Elephant
Tesco's

Think this could be interesting.
