I'v been round all the local (new) car dealers in search of a new small hatch for my sister (thinking of spending no more then 10k.

I currently drive a Corsa (c) 1.2 16v and i find this a good all-round hatch. Iv now tried most of the new fiestas/yaris's...etc and to say they have underwhelmed me is an understatment!!

My little 1.2 pisses on most other small hatches we tried and the build quality is as good as the best of em, in terms of performance my 1.2 easily FELT (im not saying it was) quicker then all but the biggest engines hatches.

Could anyone please help us out what hatch (not Hot hatch) should she be looking for?

and before u say tell her to get a corsa, she doesnt like the look of em

and insurance is an issue shes looking for somthing with a years free!

like i said shes not really interested in the corsa cos shes not to keen on the looks. TBH i drive one and think for what it is its quite a good looking car

gotta agree the corsa handling is appawling, (new and old). Thank god when i bought my latest corsa i got vaux to fit the Irmscher suspension kit (really has improved the feel of the car).

Shes been talking about the 206 i think they are probably the best looking small car (IMO) only thing is heard a few bad storyes about build quality!

All i can say about the 206 is tha yea the interior is a bit pants, but then i would say its far better than things like puntos etc which are really bad. IMO they look the best and handle really well "out of the box"

Quite like the punto but a m8 of mine has recently bought the 1.2 active (8v) boy is that car slow and the amount of probs hes had is unreal.
