Personally, and no disrespect to the mods, i think it's gone downhill due to people getting away with too much crap and the mods showing no authority.

he he, you want me to get banned Craig?
well most of them in some way or form!
Especially when they have secret chats about who to ban i.e. Seth and Shelly!
and all the crap they post and get away with it! Someone else posts and they get warned or banned!
A quote from admin themselves
"And obviously if your a moderator of them please mind what subjects you post in and participate in. "

Not naming any names, but i have seen evidence of certain mods having power hungry ban chats.

Secret chats about who to ban are just that - secret chats. They hold no ground in the wider scheme of things.
Before this gets too out of hand I would like to point out that everyone is entitled to an opinion and these secret chats are simply evidence of this.
I don't entertain the notion that being a bent mod will see you get your way.

This worries me greatly as this was posted in confidence. Also, I happen to agree with not becoming too involved in the conversation which you moderate, and I'm yet to see why this statement in particular should be criticized.

well if you moderate a forum where people post shit and you post shit too then why should you have authority over others to ban or elect people to be banned!
Oh and Craig, thanks, another dedicated member who travelled from south to north for a meet, just as I did north to south! We have seen the site at it's best and I feel that it is going downhill and not just because of the users but because of the mods!

Leni, valid stuff but you must substantiate.
And lets not confuse the job. Moderation is to remove problem content from the forum and further to that, to feed back problems to other staff for a communial decision over things.
Posting crap in Off Day doesn't undermine anyones ability to do this although I do agree - it is a very fine line between involvement and supervision.
I'd far prefer to deal with this case by case though, instead of generalising and pointing the finger.

Mate if that's the case, i'd like to see all the gay chat removed. It's a car site, so why are certain members allowed to pop up in most threads with remarks like' can i stick my finger up your bum', 'i want to touch your willy' etc. An outsider viweing the site must think WTF.
As said before, it's a message board, not a chat room. It's what brings the site down IMO and reflects on the mods.

Show users that the mods are here for a reason. If they do it, warn them. If they do it again, ban them. At the end of the day if you make it clear you're not going to tolerate it, and they still do it, they've got themselves to blame if they get banned and can't warrant a whinge.

I think you have to accept that the majority of users now use CS to pass the time of day at work, which is a shame, but don't let them bring the site down. It's your site mate, do as you see fit.

im 100% behind this,
i could quite easily name 3 names who are just on here to speak total crap and post bad things about everyone they can,
the quicker we can get rid of these people, the quicker this forum can get back to what it was

Thanks for the input. Hopefully we can continue to discuss this objectively if anyone else has further comments.

We should have a "ban" forum where people are put up for the vote each week, with other members voting to save each member from being banned. At the end of the 9-10 week period, the user remaning would be banned.
They'd also recieve 70k, meet Davina by the exit doors and have their photo take by the press but they'd never be allowed to set foot on CS again.

I know you won't believe me but I wasn't talking about banning Kerry. Just because I am in a conversation doesn't mean I was having any input.
I am just worried because I like Kerry and she doesn't seem to be liking me at the moment.

shelly i do not have a problem with u please dont take it personal, also if u didnt have me on block on msn then we could discuss this off the board. i was just usin u as an example of the conflicting behaviour this site is experiencin at the moment with regards to wot is acceptable or unacceptable.
no disrespect but sometimes u really should show some degree of professionalism when it comes to makin ure input to this community
