Just thought if a 1.6 16v sport is 0-60mph in 9.5 secs
then a GSI with the same engine (eco tec x16xe) should be quicker because the GSI did not have air con. So what is the actual figure for a GSI x16xe.
Discuss please.

Difference between 'C' and 'X' 16XE is indeed 3bhp.
I think the C16XE has a different inlet manifold/throttle body design, and possibly no EGR system, although I could be wrong...

Sam ur right. Think the head ports are slightly larger on the C16.
Later X16XE GSi's will be the same spec as the Sport X16 lumps. 9.5 0-60, 119mph.
Mid range performance on the C16 engine is better also. As well as the modifying potential.
C16 was the one designed with 150bhp. X16 was designed from the C16 lump and never came with anything like 150bhp.

Damien, I had the X16XE and I managed a 0-60 0f 9.1 seconds, a better driver who knows how to launch properly would be easily capable of a 0-60 of 8.9 seconds.

Oliver, i done 0-60 in 9.55 on in a 1.4 16v with official equipment. PLease remember that factory stats are based on the average.
Im telling you from my personnal experience, and that of a vauxhall mechanic of 14 odd years, who has an X16 GSi, and from other GSi owners that a C16 engine is faster.
Or are you just gonna try to argue some more with me today?

I did not say that the C16 is slower you turd, I just said that the X16XE is faster than factory figures.
Its you who wants the argument not me.

Partly yes for your attitude in another post.
AS for the facts, well, that is an un-biased opinion based on experience. So partly no.
Getting you a little worked up is it?

Datron Timed gear at Alconbury airstrip, Corsa Vs Nova day, before you even had a corsa. Cough cough nonce!
And of course my car didn't do that kinda speed with the videos. Partly due to a 170kg Ice install and 16"s.
But then you never look at the facts do you stephen, you just go off on some wild trip thinking you do know all When clearly you never do, cos i always prove you wrong when you try to slate me
Humble pie stephen?

How can the X16XE GSI be the same performance as the sport when the GSI has no air con these units are big & heavy
