If your struggling with this.
Try a band called Jimmy eat world. Got some real good tunes to strum along to and fairly simple. I learnt guitar playing their's and oasis' songs.
jimmy eat world makes me sad....
been learning some alexisonfire and underoath recently though..

My amp is a cheapo one, so the sound isn't amazing. Can't you get some kind of pedal that changes the tone, to give different sounds?
