Well finally he has managed to get the list of jobs knocked down to just the front end, and a general tidy up.
Lots of jobs done, mainly mounting bits and pieces. All the bits and bobs in the boot are sorted with the holes drilled for them. He has made a new foot rest for the passenger side as wasn't happy with the one bought, plus he wanted to mount the battery behind it. Also a foot rest for the drivers side as your heels kept getting caught on original floor.
He cut and tacked the water pipes to take the water from the engine to the rear radiator. Only have pics of the one pipe but the second just follows the same path directly above it. They are currently away being tig welded.
Whilst having the hole saw out for the water pipes he put a few holes into the inner sills so could make sure the new sills get a proper coating of wax oil when the car comes back from painting.
Lastly he has completed the firewall with a couple of plates across the arches. So the boot is fully sealed now, should keep the flames and noise of the fuel pumps out of the cabin!
So not much left to do over christmas, then off for blasting the first week in January! Just over a year to complete the shell which I think is awesome progress.
The pics:

Looks awesome
Won't there be any safety issues with running hot water pipes right by the passengers legs?

He might want to get some seat covers though or his seats will be ruined before the car is finished.
The seats don't stay bolted into the shell, they are just test fitted every now and again so everyone can have a sit in and make imaginery 5 pot turbo noises while holding a pretend steering wheel
Shell is going to get blasted before long by a mate of mine so Hamish is sorting all the last little bits before the blasters get their hands on it in Jan.

Well finally he has finished the shell.
The front end is all done which was the last big job on the list. The front bumper is fastened on with 6 Dzus fasteners so its about 30 seconds work to get it on and off.
Once he had that mounted he made a couple of small slam panels so he could get the lights fitted and the bonnet pins in. There is going to be a removable section to bolt inbetween them so the engine can still come out the front.
The water pipes are now all done he is very happy how they turned out, last job was to give the whole shell a good tidy up so hopefully it will look half decent with some paint on it!
He also got a couple of parts off Santa!
So next the floor comes down and it can escpae again!
Here she is out the roof space:
Got the shell away to the blasters safely today. It was a bit of a mission to get it down, sadly no pictures of that as he was slightly busy at the time!
He is going to see the car on wednesday after it has been blasted before the primer goes on!

What's with the dented strut tower? Is that normal or 'adjusted' for a reason?
Awesome water pipes too, and I think that's the first time I've ever had to say that

The dent is a factory fit jobbie, who knows why and I agree about the water pipes as wrong as that actually sounds!

Hamish wants it white inside, outside, underneath the lot but a few of us including the painter are suggesting a super bright pink

Weird, must be to do with the fuel distributor on the standard car, or exhaust manifold/turbo clearance, something along those lines I guess.

He's been asked to make a few cages for people but always says no as doesn't want the responsebility hanging over his head if it came to it and wasn't upto the job especially when he hasn't got insurance for such work!

We're going through Sat to collect it from the blasters, then straight through to the company that done all bodywork on my corsa!
Its amazing how much better it looks just out the garage where you can see the full car rather than just little bits in photo's!
Be a different car again when its blasted and coat of primer on I'd imagine!

My mate that runs the blast shop doing Hamish's car e-mailed me a pic tonight, they had just finished doing the underside nice to see its a mint shell!
Can't really tell where it has been joined either which is another good thing
More pics when Hamish goes to see it for himself tomorrow hopefully all finished and ready for primer!
