Naff update:

Got 2 more red silicone hoses. Got these 25mm and 45mm couplers from ASH Motorsport.



One is to bridge my DV:



The other is to start with boost pipework. I'm going to but the T piece after the tophat hose, then use this coupler into a hardpipe. Im hoping 45mm bore will be OK for this as it will run down to a bend and then into the IC. Can anyone shed some light on ideal boost pipe diameter between 210-260bhp? AKA; Nic?

.....oh yeh, new washer bottle as my other was shite:

Spat a driveshaft yesterday. I changed the inner CV boot P/S last week and didn't refit the CV back in correctly. Was boosting and heard a crash and lost drive. Had to tow it back with a hard tow bar which was bashing on my bumper and cracked the paint. Thats what I'm most upset about 2bf. Hopfully I can get it touched up. Stripped down the shaft today to find the bearings in the CV had collapased from the cage so I'm now trying to put it all back together. Fiddly to say the least.

Not a good day.........

boost pipe diameter.....

oddly i ran 400bhp on 52mil pipes so thats easily fine for the levels your looking at.

as for driveshaft. i understand your pain. i snapped one earlier on today.

Got a brand new CV joint today. Was quite tricky to find one from a local Motor factor due to tooth pattern. Anyway, all fitted so fingers crossed its OK now.

Ordered my pipework to build new boost pipes too. Went for a 51mm straight hard stainless pipe (thanks Nic) Anyone recommend what angle to go for into standard intercooler? 45 or 90?

Indeed. It makes an otherwise easy job all the more irritating. What you reckon to these boost pipes then Nic? I'm going to have (hat to IC) a 45mm 45deg into T, 45mm-51mm reducer into 51mm hard pipe then into IC. Haven't ordered IC joiners yet what angle do you reckon?

depends how your intercooler is. i have a 90 degree bend either side of my intercooler to join it into the pipework

Well I mounted it as far right as possible so bends can clear the rad. At the moment it's just joined with a shady straight hose. Don't really want to order hoses that won't fit. Tried to use an angle finder we use on the roofing but it's quite the same

oh hey, remember to put the circlip on the end of that new cv as i notice it dont have one in that pic.

intercooler pipes are just a case of getting some that fit really. however they work, aslong as they do. some exhaust places can knock them up if you ask, including different angle bends etc. only problem is, steel is a fair way heavier than alloy pipes.

Oh yeh didn't think of exhaust places actually. Yeh got the circlip on, thats the fiddly part even with circlip pliers. I think the tubing maybe aluminum actually.

Well I had a split boot which I replaced and that left a lot of grease over the gearbox.
As I was saying to Nic, Its a straight forward job but no matter how much you wipe and clean, you can't get rid of the damn grease which makes it a horrible job!
