Nice one I want to get a bigger zoom lens but it's paying for it that's the problem I was trying to take pictures of birds in our garden at the weekend on 55mm. As you can guess it's a case of "spot the bird"

Haha yeah I tried that on a SLR 55mm so I couldn't even see the results I was getting! I took the film to be developed and the person must have thought I was mad because there was just about 10 pictures of the same tree with tiny dots, which were the birds! I was lucky and got a 75 - 300 lens with my camera when I bought but I just wish the aperture would go larger so I can get the fastest shutter speeds possible!

Therein lies the problem, all the good lenses with epic specs are crazy money If I were to go out and buy a lens I don't know what I'd get first, the Nikon 35mm F1.8 or a Tamron or similar 70-200/300. Both are similar money!

Today brings the first pics from my phone I call this one "value" because it's two toothbrushes for 10p I imagine they come in twos because they break each time you use them, but they're not going near my mouth so it's all good.

PP: Auto levels, auto colour, increased saturation, increased brightness.

A new house (or maybe houses, not sure) are being built not so far up the road and today there was this massive drill so I thought it would make a good pic.

PP: Auto levels, auto colour, brightened shadows, rotated, cropped, increased contrast, smart sharpen, increased saturation.

There's a local mill place called Combe Mill and 8 times in the summer it's running, it's basically a steam mill that's a good couple of hundred years old. A bunch of really old blokes keep it running and man the place when it's open. Seeing as I haven't gone since I was seriously little, we went today and of course the camera came too. This is one of my favourite pics of the day and an awesome little machine at the same time. No real purpose, but I think it's cool

PP: Auto levels.

My final picture on "addiction", I'm sticking with this one now. And not because today is the last day in the photography challenge

Took this for the "work/job" theme, the idea behind it is that you spend a lot of time at work (if you work full time like me) and after a while it blends together.

PP: Auto levels, auto colour, photo filter, copied phone to new layer, blurred background, desaturated, decreased brightness, increased contrast, minor spot healing.

These arrived in the post today, makes me even more excited! Same price as I paid to see them in December '08 in Oxford which is all good.

PP: Darkened with highlights tool, smart sharpen, badly edited out barcode and ticket ID etc.

Fancied attempting to get a pic of the moon tonight seeing as it was out full and looking awesome, didn't get quite what I wanted but I think that's because of the clouds and my kit lens.

PP: None.

One from the compact today. I took this at the petrol station just before topping up, first time I've gotten this car over 300 miles from a tank! There wasn't much left, mind

After cutting some cheese at dinner time, the thought came into my head to cut some cheese for today's picture. So here is a slightly abstract picture of some cheese being cut. I just hope that the euphemism is being picked up on so I wasn't wasting my time

PP: Auto levels, auto colour, smart sharpen, increased contrast.

Cheers Matt It's too bad I took 118 on the day I did otherwise it could have been entered for "Travel" No chance of it winning but it is on the right theme at least.

Today's pic goes out to time, because there just hasn't been enough of it lately The colours have come out a bit weird bur ironically (and kind of proving my point) I don't have time to fix it

PP: Auto levels, increased contrast, auto colour, increased brightness.
