These kind of tidy up projects are my favourite, this and Gavins Saxo are my favourites to watch.

before you know it, the car will be sat around in pieces like a willay or jr car

i'd even see it a better option to buy a 2nd engine and build that to a top spec out of the car. Then you will have a decent VR6 lump ready to dump in whatever car you have when its ready, be it your golf, a mk2, a corrado etc

Waiting for the guy to reply as to whether he drove it whilst it was all fitted.

you mentioned Corrado in a thread

That option would be more costly, the golf is meant to be a cheap bit of fun until it goes pop then depending on severity fix or split

Fancy a swap? My golf for your Rado and a hug?

the exact reason why a £650 turbo kit of unknown history shouldn't be on your list of things to do

VR6 engine is decent enough on its own, not going to destory every car on the road but how often are you actually racing someone?

you couldn't get a nice exhaust or coilovers brand new for that money

Errrr saying that it wasn't far of my mates Mk1 focus RS on the move. if i could get some low down grunt out of it i think i would be happier, doesnt seem to pull hard until over 3.5k. but that might be because im used to the nissan?

Exhaust system needs replacing soonish, rubbers are shot and it was an advisory on MOT for rusting

So the turbo kit will make no difference then as it won't hit boost until at least 3k?

Tune it as NA, if its not enough, make up your own turbo kit, can be as you want it then.

Fro, any chance you would be interested in another complete vr6 golf to swap the interior from? Got one that needs selling

Graham - Shhhhh

Dan - Was looking at chargers last weekend couple k for all the kit second hand and should be around 300bhp. Turbo kits and S/c kits look easy enough to install though so should save some money if i go FI.

AW- can you pm or email some pics?
