you don't have to go to those extremes though - just as simple as wearing a pink teeshirt when everyone else has on a black shirt or wearing flip flops when everyone else has shoes on or wearing a scarf inside a club which gets people to come up to you and ask if you're not too hot. its all down to personality; the sombrero was possibly a step too far but if you're an extrovert it could work; it doesn't matter what you do so long as it catches someones eye and if it doesn't, then it doesn't matter because you're out for a good time!

Everyone in my local town wears tshirts, jeans and brown shoes; so I'll go out with a black shirt on or a pair of boots - you don't have to be ott to stand out

Where did I say that; I'm no fashion expert infact I have appaling taste in clothes but I'd rather not blend and pander to the likes of what topman, burtons or next tells me I ought to wear. I had the orange zip up hoody in my avatar on on Friday night; I didn't see one other person in orange - I was btoh warmer and stood out

I have a bright yellow v neck jumper that I wear over shirts which usually gets me noticed.

Will also go out in waistcoat etc sometimes depending on where I'm going get chatting to a few girls that way aswell.

I can see where the people saying this attention thing are coming from, that's ok if you're in a place full of student types that appreciate it or in an area where it's going to work. Just as an example, I would never wear a bright orange zipper in the dancing because a) it'd be fucking roasting and b) it won't make girls come up to you in Glasgow. They'll just be wondering who the sweaty weirdo standing on the stairs is.

never sweaty; drink plenty and go outside every once in a while - that's a point; you meet some nice people outside with the smokers. Not necessarily smokers but people who get pulled outside to keep their mates company whilst they're smoking - its amazing how many people want to hug you when its cold outside
