Love how you blame your dad
Some cars are a fucking pain to bleed, just fit a water pump on gf's Corsa C, absolute pain to bleed. Water wouldnt drop, ended up sticking my mouth over the bottle and blowing down it and then it dropped

bit of an impulse buy here. there was a thread on a z4 forum about cheap fk springs on amazon and the fk site.
everyone thought it was just a pricing error so i ignored it. but then one guy bought them and posted pics, so i thought i'd buy some too.
mine:
his:
it's a very subtle drop but you can see it sits so much better just above the tyres.
also for £16.76 + £9.99 delivery it's a bargain

Lovely car, enjoy reading the updates, nicer tan anything ill own etc etc

nothing wrong with fk springs i only use it for commuting to work and then the odd blast at weekends (if sunny) so i figured i may aswell take a punt as they're cheap.
the standard springs snapping is commonplace (the ones on mine were changed in 2009 due to this) so they can't be that good anyway
also it's more a cruiser with a bit of poke than a driving machine. handles well, but you can feel yourself being dragged towards the outside of the corner due to the heavy lump up front.

i'll fit them and then remove them if i don't like them.
eibachs are £160 odd and atm i'm too tight to pay that much for springs

What do you mean by trash? Firm ride? Crap quality?
The owner of the silver car above said they're fine, even his other half doesnt mind the ride.

I'm with Jambo, for some reason that inch seems to make a difference. Dunno how though! The tyres on the CSL's don't do it justice either.

alright calm down, i'm not buying the wheels it's just a pic to show how the car sits with the springs on 18'' wheels.
if i ever got CSL's they would be 19's. i prefer the e46 m3 19's though.

Can't believe your going to fit £4.19 worth of spring to each corner.
They must be old swingball coils or made by madmike for them to be making a profit on that

on the site they are selling all old stock. Its no different to buying 2nd hand springs cheap except mine are brand new. http://www.carparts-tuning.co.uk/
I understand your concerns. I had the same thoughts initially and only after a week of worrying, bought them.
As said, of they're naff I will replace them with eibachs and sell them to some other guy.

got a parcel today from bmminiparts.
my gearstick surround was all scratched and had a crack in it. it was £35 to replace it from a dealer or £12 through the place above for genuine parts.
also got some screws i had been missing.
heres the one currently in my car:
running fine now. had to put 500ml of 5w30 in yesterday though.

I have not driven a Z4 but am surprised to hear that yours appears to drive like a big engined Audi. I would have thought they had the same balance as a 3 series ie the 50:50 (or very close) balance as you have the drive train, rear diff, battery in back etc to balance that big lump up front.
I hardly have any understeer in my 330 and certainly does not have that heavy lump pull feeling that you are describing.

maybe i'm just not used to it yet. it seems to be very compliant when pushing on but when driving normally, it just feels a bit front heavy.
done a mental traffic light gp pull away today and i was thoroughly impressed
