Got the engine out today and stripped a load of bits off of it. The pistons are out and clutch/flywheel has been removed . I havent got the female torx socket to fit the front crank pulley though so gotta get one before i can remove the crank.
Does anyone know if the heads are interchangeable from GM to coscast as i have noticed that they are slightly different but i cant see that itll make any difference? Pics of heads:

Got the XE stripped down even more yesterday. The Crank is out and the block is bare. I also stripped the coscast head down to find that 2 of the inlet valves are corroded on the sealing edge so ill have to strip the GM head to pinch some. It also looks like someone has attempted to port the coscast head.
I was fed up of pilling all the XE stuff on the back seats of the corsa so i stripped some of the crap out the back to make room for engine bits Pics:
Also has anyone got any idea why i have 2 different starters and 2 different alternaters even though there are all XE items?

will just be the difference in years of engines. those alts, one on right is early type, one on left is the later engine with multi rib belt.

Just been tidying a few bits up as ive been putting off doing the big autovaux order but the time has came to do it. . . A few pics of bits ive powder coated or sprayed.
Anyone have any idea what the difference is between the two butterflies on the TBs as ive noticed one has a thick wedge on one half?
Comments welcome.
