Yeah the sensors in the sump pan mate think there about £50 to replace not worth bothering though if it doesn't bother you

My Toledo is always wet atm due to all the rain, wonder would that butyl tape or whatever its called sort it out, where did you order it from?

I got it off eBay. I just searched for butyl Tape and I got 8 metres for about a tenner.
It's done the job as the windscreen no longer mists up after rain and theres no damp smell either. Carpets are also bone dry 
Still got the other door to do but need to fix the lock barrel first as it spins around for some reason.

Word on the street is the ignition switch can fuck that up - just changed one om my mates E39 and it turned the airbag light off and the brake lights that were stuck on off.

That's odd
Only thing I can think of is something under the passenger seat getting wet? The seats sit pretty low to the floor and theres all sorts of electrical stuff under them.
The airbav light is a very common issue on z4's. Theres an entire stickied thread dedicated to it!
Hoping it's something simple really, like a loose plug

I had my occupancy sensor play up the other day. I say play up, turned out to be my previous passenger crushing the de icer under the seat. Was driving me insane.

Passed it's MOT today. Only advisory was O/S front tyre as it's cracked due to age.
I had to put my standard 18s back on the front as one of my 19's has a flatspot from a pothole.
Also had to put black tape over the airbag light on the dash to get it through. Need to get that looked at by the guy who does my services. Hopefully he can fix it.
Anyway, things that need sorting:
Airbag light - Diagnose the issue and fix.
Exhaust bracket - Snapped, needs welding.
Drivers door lock - not fixed to anything so turns itself. Repair and then replace door membrane.
Dent in N/S front wing - Repair or replace.
Scratch on O/S front wing - Repair.
Scuff on rear bumper from moron doing a hit and run - Repair.
Sort out alloys.
Should keep me busy for a while

Had my eye on either a fiesta or focus st for ages now. Just need to be man enough to go in and order one

That's my issue, Gav. I hate it but I love driving it. It gives decent economy when driven normally, is fun to have some rwd laughs in, looks good to me and doesn't owe me a penny.
Would love to keep it as a weekend car but would prefer to chuck the money into the house and get a new bathroom and kitchen. Old man stuff

Same as the Fiesta, but it's far too slow
My mate brought his code scanner in work last night to give it a try with the airbag fault. Didn't work. was worth a try and cost me nothing.
I've bought an airbag light reset thing off eBay for £15 to see if that sorts it, hopefully come tomorrow. If not, it's time for INPA (i think it's called that).
We did pick up a CPS (cam position sensor) fault though. Would that make the car run rough on cold starts?
Mines been doing it for as long as I can remember. Pops and bangs a bit but is fine when warm.

I've replaced the cracked intake pipe already. Checked the others whilst I had them out and they were all fine, refitted and checked they were tight, so the issue isn't there, unfortunately.
CPS, apparently there are 2. One at the front end of the engine, which takes about 10 seconds to change and one at the back which is more difficult.
I need to plug the code reader back in to check which one it is as i didn't write it down Hoping it's the easy one.
Engine pulls really well so I don't think theres anything wrong with it's innards. It certainly feels like a dodgy sensor and not a bigger problem.

Got the cheapy airbag code reader today so gave it a try.
Came up with this:
In the manual, it has 2 explanations for code 38.
Control unit fault, swinging voltage test.
firing circuit, head airbag, front left.
God knows what that means, but either way, it won't clear the code or turn the airbag light off, which it is supposed to do.
Looks like that'll be going back and it'll need a specialist looking at it.

World's most boring update...
Checked the coolant for the first time in months and noticed It needed a top up pretty badly.
Took 500ml as a 50/50 mix. Also chucked yet more oil in, then ran it almost dry and chucked in a tank full of tesco momentum.
Also put my 19's back on the front. Looks ok now, finally.

It won't clear because it's a current fault. If the fault was a past code it would clear it. No code reader in the world including the BMW one would clear a current fault.
Also, I'd say from that fault description it's the igniter unit in the front left head rest?

Cheers Flaffy  Theres no headbag in the headrest AFAIK. Only ones I know of are passenger front and one in the doorcard (which I removed when fixing the door membrane).
Had a look under the seat and everything seems to be connected also.
