some bad decision making by erikkson last night, IMHO. England did very well against a determined portugese side, such a shame to go down to penalties yet again. Crouch had no support once Lennon had gone. And Lennon, what a fantastic player

so chuffed with how well lennon, hargreaves played, for me they did well all tournament when played and should of been on all game everygame.
feel gutted for becks, that man has so much passion fot playing football and so much pride for england, u could see how devastated he was when he came off.
what really pisses me off tho is how each time we get cheated out of the world cup, and they get away with it, FA seriously needs to sort something out. if i were a man u fan id be disgraced and ashamed to have ronaldo in my team, he is the lowest of the low and one day he will get his.

My take...
We were brilliant for the majority... even before Rooney got sent off we were playing well but gerrard/Lampard weren't giving Rooney enough support... Crouch and Hargreaves deserve medals... the two have done so well for England under so much pressure... Hargreaves was immense last night!
Once again, every time we go out on pens, we miss a hatful of chances... we should ahve won by a couple but it wasn't to be...
As for the pens... perhaps Carragher should have been more attentive but there was no reason for the ref not to blow although I suppose Ricardo stayed rooted so it made no diff... he was never gonna score the 2nd... Lampard/Gerrard should be ashamed of themselves... EVERY other time they would probably have buried them
I agree with Alan Shearer... its time to stop being the gentleman of the footie eorld... I hate to say it but its time to start shirt pulling, pushing, diving, harrassing referees etc... I'm sick of every other cheating poor countries doing it to us and it always costs us... time to get revenge!!
The other shit thing is that France beat Brazil as... just like in 2002 you could argue that every team past our Qtr Final opponents was beatable and we could have 3 stars soon

now the dust has settled here is an impartial point of view
England were unlucky to go out and pens is such a hard way to go but with the class of players that you have pens should have been a formality (is it a mental block???)
Portugal played a extremely clever game temprement wise and Ronaldo had obviously been told to get Rooney annoyed, he succeeded
but the blame lies directly on Sven's shoulders baffling tactics and squad selection
The sad news for England Steve McClaren will behave the exact same way
