Been out again earlier. Even worse than last time ffs. I really haven't got a clue how I managed to do the cumbrian run 2 months ago.

I've been doing between 3.5-5km on the treadmill at the gym. Was going to go out last weekend and try out my new NB mud shoes but the weather was crap. Hopefully try them out this weekend.

Surely bad weather means that mud shoes would be in their element?!

I'm still doing 5k three times a week, need to start pushing towards 10k soon but I am quite comfortable with 5

I'm the same. Alot quicker on roads. I find treadmill 10km hard work.

Did my first 10k last night, not really any tougher than doing 5k really.
Pretty pleased with myself

A year off training running this year, concentrating on long distance cycling instead.
May run with the dog once he's a bit older though - 5ks should be possible in a few months

Going to attempt a 10k round the villages this morning. Have only been running on treadmills so far this year really so it may suck. Need to learn to pace myself again.

8:10 average for 7.1 miles well happy with that. Can feel I've lost half a stone since new year.

Should beat your time by a minute when you do it outside, I hate treadmills with a passion

I'm going to aim for 22m dead on treadmill Nic.
I ran slower today than I normally run as my mate has only just started running, was fine with me as I haven't run on uneven ground for years and didn't want to go over on my foot running too fast over bumps and holes!

My problem is I have small legs and I'm not particularly a runners build so I will never be fast, but I can keep going which is useful. My aim for the year is to try and get sub 8 minute miles consistently over 10k.

My dad and his mate used to do ultra marathons, open adventure runs and Three Peaks. My dad is about 5' 9 and his mate is over 6'. My dad has the advantage over him when running up hill.
