Really is sad state of affairs too many idiotic scots voting yes just because of ridiculous hatred of England. I hate England as well but what can you do?

I feel really sorry for all the YES voters that must hate their lives so much that they need to change it to this degree. Me, I like my life so I'm voting No.

It only costs something like 3 million to provide the free prescriptions. I think the stat was that only 5% of people paid anyway. Its a completely irrelevant figure but obviosulg gets loads of good publicity so is a no brainer.

Hate to say it, been English myself, but there are some serious chips on shoulders on lots of English folk.
Claim to not care about what the Scottish do but cant help chirping up saying "You're going to be fucked" and "Hope it fails", very bizarre to be so emotional about something they claim not to care about.

Posted this a few months back, but, on reflection and having really looked into it all I've decided not to vote. Lived here all of 15 months, dont plan to spend my entire life here, feel its wrong i get a say in what is a pretty massive decision.
Mind, im not sure i could decide if a i was voting anyway, lots of pros and cons for each side, though, with the way the No campaign has been run I'd be tempted to vote Yes just because its been nothing short of a shambles. Was always a tough sell given it seems the negative one but dear oh dear, they've made a right pigs ear of it all. Massively complacent, pinned all their hopes on scaremongering and its only now they look like losing that the big guns are coming up, says it all. Only interested when it looks like they might be losing jobs (and money), they dont have Scotland's best interests at heart (not saying Salmond does either).
If Yes wins it will be because No handed it to Salmond on a plate.
Best renew my passport so i can visit home

This obviously doesn't apply to everyone, but the more I speak to both camps, the more this trend shines through.

I just like the banter, Jonny, having a Scottish bird makes things interesting.
I would actually like them to fall back into the dark ages though. That would be magnificent.

I'm fairly nonplussed about it tbh, I just think it's a load of hassle for all involved with not much to gain.
Jonnys post is interesting though, obviously Labour is strong in Scotland but if they were to lose all those seats, would that make it easier for the Conservatives in the rest of UK?

It would make things a lot easier for them. There's some stats to say in some elections Labour would've won anyway (2007 was mentioned i think) but if it's close they will certainly suffer. If they go indy, I can see a huge shake up of the political parties for the rest of the UK. Labour would probably split into two, the Cons could go more far right to cover off UKIP knowing that they wouldn't have to chase the disenchanted labour voter anymore.
It's probably the single most life changing vote we'll ever live through. Huge implications for everyone. The fact even the tories are desperate to cling onto Scotland tells you that's there's a lot for England to lose too.
Fair play to the Scots for standing up for themselves though. Hopefully one day the North will do the same. We're essentially a different breed to whats down South these days anyway, a split is probably needed. Let them have everything south of Sheffield and we'll form a super north with the Jocks.

All well and good having a bit of fun, I've certainly had plenty up here
But theres nothing to gain for England if Scotland fails. Why would you want a country in turmoil right on your doorstep?

Interesting, it's a side of it I hadn't given much thought to tbh. So I assume Labour will form a separate party for Scotland only?
I sort of thought Cameron's take on it was similar to mine, "can't be arsed having to sort that out, let's just hope they vote against it"

Aye, there will be a Scottish Labour formed i imagine (or a socialist party anyway) which will no doubt replace Salmond at the first opportunity if they play their cards right.
I think they just assumed they'd vote no, which, until recently, was the way it was going. Its crazy how much opinion has changed from when i first moved here but not all that surprising given the shambles that was the No campaign. Whilst they arrogantly sat back, the Yes campaign has played on the heart strings and said all the right things (without giving too much away about the actual details of their plans). Theres a proper bandwagon now towards Yes, people who were undecided before are seeing the increase in the Yes popularity and are siding with it. Suddenly the No side have been forced into action, but i think its too late. I mean, they're basically just proving Salmond right, that Westminster only cares about itself, the first sign they look like losing and the big 3 are straight on a train up here with increased offers of max devo and new timetables? Where were you before? Where were these offers before?
I really have no idea what is the best outcome for Scotland. Im certain a No vote is better for the UK.

If they do vote yes, what effect will it have on a 31 year old postman from Derby's life?

I know that i should i just cant
Im a cunt for principles. I just dont feel its my place to decide on the future of life long Scottish folk and their kids. If i was planning to spend the rest of my life here then maybe but (although i might) im probably not going to.
I would probably vote No, if push came to shove, but I'd be doing it selfishly seeing as i believe its better for the rest of the UK to stay together not because i believe thats whats best for Scotland.
That said, anyone want to buy my vote? Highest bidder wins, im sure thats not illegal

Tbf, there's just as many cunts in northern cities (Manchester, Liverpool is loaded with them) as there is in southern cities; difference is, the 'chattyness' of said cunts
